浅渚冬晴半日长，

濠河曲岸觅疏芳。

忽惊枝上朱衣客，

(Startled by a scarlet-clad guest aloft on the boughs,)

疑是林间一点霜。

(Mistook it at first for a lone frost patch in the woods.)

金翅掠，玉翎张，

(Golden wings flash, jade feathers spread,)

衔将玛瑙碎晴光。

(Seizing agate beads, shattering the crystal light.)

银珠几点摇摇落，

(A few silver pearls sway, trembling, fall,)

溅入寒波也带香。

(Splashing into the chill water, carrying fragrance.)
